Polyacrylonitrile fiber
The main component of acrylic yarn is polyacrylonitrile fiber, also known as acrylonitrile fiber. This fiber is formed by the polymerization of acrylonitrile monomer into long-chain molecules, which are then made into fibers through a spinning process. Acrylic yarn has the softness, warmth and elasticity of wool, so it is also called artificial wool.
The chemical composition of acrylic yarn is mainly acrylonitrile, which usually contains more than 85% acrylonitrile and other small amounts of second and third monomers. These monomers can be non-ionic monomers such as methyl acrylate, or ionic monomers such as sodium propylene sulfonate. The manufacturing process of acrylic yarn involves polymerizing acrylonitrile monomers into long-chain molecules, which are then formed into fibers through wet or dry spinning processes.
Acrylic yarn has a variety of excellent properties, including high temperature resistance, easy dyeing, low water washing and good mechanical properties. It has a temperature resistance of up to 300°C, is easy to dye, and has excellent tensile strength and elongation at break, which are similar to fibers such as polyester and nylon. In addition, acrylic yarn also has environmental protection properties, and its raw materials are mainly organic compounds, so it has excellent environmental protection properties.
Acrylic yarn is widely used in clothing, home textiles and product processing. For example, sweaters and underwear made of acrylic yarn have a soft and comfortable texture, and have functions such as UV resistance and warmth retention; outerwear products such as jackets and cotton-padded clothes have functions such as warmth retention, wear resistance and stain resistance; home textile products such as pillowcases, sheets, blankets, etc. have the characteristics of softness, wear resistance and wrinkle resistance.
