16NM / 2 Goat Hair Blend Yarn

16Nm/2 Goat Hair Blend Yarn is a thick double-ply mountain goat hair blend yarn designed for high-end and luxury knitwear brands. It is single yarn twisted twice to form a double strand (equivalent to approximately 8 needles), specifically developed for 3G-7G vertical machines to create winter thick Style, long-style cardigans, and plush coat knitwear.

Cloudy texture + halo effect​
Goat Hair fibers have sparse surface scales and fluffy medullary layers, with an additional "air sac" layer compared to wool. After weaving, gently pulling the fibers will reveal the halo - a subtle glow under the sunlight + a fluffy ring floating around. This is the visual core of LP/BC's "old money knitwear".
Heavy and warm in the deep winter​
16Nm/2 thick yarn + goat hair with hollow structure = Under the same level of warmth, it is 15–20% lighter than pure wool. A 5G M cardigan weighs 520–580g, a long coat knit weighs 650–750g. The wearing feeling is one size lighter than the visual effect, and it can be worn alone in the northern deep winter outdoors.
17–19.5μm low itchiness​
The fine goat hair original fibers have a fineness of less than 19.5μm (top models reach 17–18μm), with no itchiness at the neck and wrists, and can be used for high-necked styles, baby/children's lines.
High-end color palettes show good color performance​
The base of Goat Hair evenly adsorbs plant dyes / low bath ratio reactive dyes, and color palettes such as camel / oat / milky white / light gray / haze blue, which are "quiet luxury" colors, have better layering effect than wool and merino, which are the advantages of the brand's main color palette.

 

 

Hand-knitted knitting needles: Use 5-7 mm knitting needles for single strands (density approximately 14-16 stitches × 18-22 rows / 10 cm), suitable for making coats, scarves, and hats. Double-strand knitting (using 8-10 mm needles) can also be done to create extra thick styles.
• Crochet needles: Use 5-6 mm crochet needles for single strands, suitable for crocheting hats, bags, and household items.
• Home flat knitting machine: Not recommended. As the mountain wool fibers are relatively thick and hard, ordinary home flat knitting machines are prone to getting needles stuck. If machine knitting is needed, it is recommended to use industrial coarse needle knitting machines (needle spacing above 3.5 mm).
• Cleaning and maintenance: It is recommended to wash by hand or dry clean. Use neutral detergent, wash in cold water, gently press, lay flat to dry, avoid direct sunlight, do not dry, and do not iron at high temperatures. Mountain wool fibers are not resistant to alkali and should avoid using alkaline soaps.

Handmade woven clothing: oversized cardigans, chunky sweaters, cloaks, shawls. The crisp texture of the mountain wool makes the clothing shapes more three-dimensional.
Headwear and accessories: berets, newsboy caps, thick scarves, hair bands. After weaving, the shapes maintain their original form and are not prone to deformation.
Home decoration: throw pillow covers, blankets, table flags, storage baskets. The natural texture of mountain wool adds a rustic style.
DIY and creative projects: woven dolls, wall decorations, Christmas decorations, suitable for creators who pursue a natural and primitive style.
