Sheep's Wool Yarn

Sheep's wool yarn is a kind of knitted yarn made from high-quality fine wool. In the industry, fine wool with a fineness of 26 to 32 μm or less is commonly referred to as "sheep's wool", to distinguish it from ordinary coarse wool and goat wool. Usually, Australian Merino wool or domestic fine wool is selected. After processes such as carding, spinning, plaiting, twisting, and shaping, it is made into yarn suitable for hand-knitting and machine-weaving. The conventional packaging of sheep's wool yarn is hank or tube yarn. The dyeing methods support original color, fiber dispersion dyeing or hank dyeing.

The yarn count is flexible and versatile: The commonly used 2/26NM twisted yarn is equivalent to Nm 13/2. Single strands can be used with 2.5-3.0 mm spool needles to weave lightweight scarves and baby clothes; double strands can be used with 3.5-4.0 mm yarn to knit adult sweaters and cardigans; triple strands can be used with 4.5-5.0 mm yarn to weave thick coats. The same yarn can be used for multiple purposes.
Natural warmth and breathability: The wool fibers are naturally curled, which can trap a layer of static air, providing better warmth than cotton and synthetic fibers; at the same time, it absorbs moisture and wicks away sweat, making it comfortable to wear without feeling sweaty.
Machine washable option: Some sheep's wool yarns that have been treated for shrinkage can be machine washed (30 ℃ wool program), meeting the modern consumers' demand for easy care.
Good color fastness, customizable dyeing: Custom dyeing is supported, with Pantone color numbers or physical color cards available, and the minimum order quantity is flexible.

Sheep's wool yarn is widely used in the mass-produced knitted clothing sector: winter sweaters, cardigans, scarves, hats, gloves, baby clothes, children's coats, home carpets, etc. In the hand-knitting retail market (Etsy, Amazon Handmade, independent websites), it is the most popular "entry-level warm yarn", suitable for beginners in knitting and consumers with limited budgets.

Hand-knitted knitting needles: Single strand, 2.5-3.0 mm (density approximately 28-30 stitches × 36-40 rows / 10 cm), suitable for lightweight scarves and baby clothes; Double strand, 3.5-4.0 mm (density approximately 22-24 stitches × 30-32 rows / 10 cm), suitable for adult sweaters and cardigans; Triple strand, 4.5-5.0 mm, suitable for thick coats.
Crochet needles: Single strand 2.0-2.5 mm, double strand 3.0-3.5 mm, suitable for crocheting hats, scarves, and coasters.
Home/industrial flat knitting machines: 12G flat knitting machine for single strand, 14G flat knitting machine for double strand. It is recommended to make a sample first to confirm the density.
Washing and care: It is recommended to wash by hand or machine with a wool program (below 30°C), use neutral detergent, lay flat to dry, avoid direct sunlight, avoid drying, and avoid high-temperature ironing. Shrink-resistant items can be machine washed, but it is still recommended to use a gentle mode.
