Acrylic Yarn 20s is a commonly used medium-coarse yarn in the textile industry, manufactured from 100% high-purity polyacrylonitrile fibers.

Its single yarn density strictly adheres to the industry standards for coarse count yarns.

The product offers customizable twisting options, including two-ply (with a twist level of 300–400 T/m) and multi-ply (with a twist level of 450–600 T/m), designed to meet the structural strength requirements of various fabrics.

Available in over ten basic colors, such as pure white, royal blue, and light gray, the yarn features a color fastness rating of Class 4 or higher, satisfying a wide range of textile applications.

With a diameter of approximately 0.15 mm, it effectively balances stiffness and softness, combining the substantial texture of coarse yarn with the delicacy of fine yarn, thus offering a cost-effective solution for general textile use.

1. Material Characteristics:

The fiber has a crimp value of ≥25 per 25mm, a bulkiness of 800-900g/L, and a thermal insulation coefficient comparable to wool (Cro value 0.7-0.8), yet its density is only 70% of wool (1.14g/cm³).

As a "synthetic wool," it possesses excellent bulk and crimp, offering warmth comparable to natural wool while being lighter.

It also exhibits excellent light and weather resistance, resisting fading and brittleness even with long-term outdoor use, and exhibits strong resistance to UV aging.

2. Process Compatibility:

This yarn is compatible with both knitting (12–18G circular knitting, 7–12G flat knitting) and weaving processes (80–120 warp ends per inch, 60–90 weft ends per inch).

It offers a 10–15% improvement in weaving efficiency compared to conventional yarns.

With a dye uptake of ≥90% using a reactive dye system and a fixation rate of ≥85%, it is suitable for producing durable garments such as sweaters, scarves, and outerwear.

The yarn exhibits excellent dyeing performance, including strong dye absorption, vibrant and uniform coloration, and maintains its quality after repeated washing.

Single yarn breaking strength ≥ 280 cN, elongation at break 25-35%, evenness CV value ≤ 12% (Uster test), and blackboard evenness ≥ 3.5.

Plying increases breaking strength by 30-40%, abrasion resistance (Martindale method) ≥ 5000 times, and moisture regain remains stable at 2.0 ± 0.5%, balancing durability and comfort.

The increased strength after plying meets the high-wear requirements of carpets, outdoor products, and other applications.

Acrylic Yarn 20s Applications

20s acrylic yarn is widely used in knitted thermal apparel (sweaters, gloves, socks, with a weave density of 200-280g/m²), home textiles and decorative fabrics (blankets, curtains, cushions, sofa fabrics, handicrafts, with a grammage of 300-450g/m²), and industrial textiles (filter cloths, protective linings, with a filtration accuracy of 5-20μm).

It is particularly well-suited for mass-market textiles, with outstanding performance in thermal apparel and home decor.

It can also be treated with functional treatments such as antistatic and flame retardant treatments, expanding its industrial application scenarios.
