Hollow Metallic Thread Yarn

Hollow Metallic Thread Yarn is a metallic lustrous yarn with a hollow (tube-shaped) structure - it is cut into narrow bands (Lurex tape) from a 12μm thick polyester metal film, and wrapped and covered around the outer layer of 100% polyester companion yarn or core yarn to form. This "hollow + metal coating" dual structure gives the yarn three key characteristics at the same time: metallic luster (the polyester film reflects light to produce a gold-silver luster), lightweight (the hollow structure reduces the weight), and stiffness (the tubular cross-section keeps the knitted/hand-knitted finished products in a three-dimensional shape without collapsing). Compared to traditional solid gold and silver threads, the hollow structure of metallic yarn significantly reduces the unit weight while maintaining the luster effect, making it particularly suitable for scenarios such as summer clothing, hand-knitted bags, and lace ribbons that require "visual elegance without increasing weight". Standard specifications include the 1/110" MH type and 1/169" AK type, with needle sizes ranging from 3 to 12G, suitable for a wide range of processes from fine embroidery to thick-hand-knitted knitting.

Metal film coating: 12μm thick polyester film (PET film) is cut into narrow strips of 1/110" or 1/169" width. A metallic gloss layer is vapor-deposited on the surface to create a Lurex-style metallic sheen effect.
Hollow tubular structure: The metal narrow strips are wound in a spiral pattern around the outer surface of the polyester core yarn, with a hollow channel remaining inside. The yarn as a whole has a micro-tubular cross-section.
Partner yarn (Partner Yarn): 100% polyester yarn is used as the core yarn/partner yarn, providing strength, wrinkle resistance and durability.
