Textured acrylic yarn is a type of acrylic fiber that has undergone texturizing treatment. The main purpose is to make the surface of the fiber smoother and the cross-section more circular through chemical and physical methods, thereby achieving long-lasting high glossiness, a silky touch, and better physical properties. This is in stark contrast to the soft matte effect pursued by matte acrylic yarn.

Shiny and lustrous: The surface of the fibers is smooth, and they have a strong ability to reflect light, presenting a bright and magnificent luster like silk or satin.
Smooth touch: After processing, the friction coefficient of the fiber surface is reduced, resulting in a smoother, softer, and more refreshing feel, as well as excellent drapability.
Strength and wear resistance enhanced: The silk finishing process can make the fiber structure more compact, thereby improving the strength and wear resistance of the yarn to a certain extent.
Improved dyeing performance: The change in surface structure makes it easier for dyes to penetrate and adhere, so silk-finished acrylic yarn usually has brighter colors and higher color fastness.

Core process: Generally, it refers to the process where acrylic fibers are treated under a specific tension with alkaline solutions (such as sodium hydroxide) or other chemical reagents. This is similar to the "finishing" process of cotton, but the specific process parameters are adjusted according to the characteristics of acrylic fibers.
Mechanism of action: The treatment process can partially dissolve the irregular protrusions on the surface of the fibers, making them smoother, while making the cross-section of the fibers more circular, reducing diffuse reflection of light, enhancing specular reflection, and thereby generating luster.
Comparison with the degumming process: Degumming involves adding titanium dioxide to increase diffuse reflection and weaken luster; Finishing involves removing surface flaws to enhance specular reflection and improve luster. The purposes of both are completely opposite.
